The right Vietnam eSIM for your trip

You’ll need roughly 7 GB for your trip. This is an estimate; heavy video use can double it.

three easy steps

How to set it up

Do this at home, a day or two before your flight.

  1. Check your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked

Most phones from the last few years do. Locked phones from some carriers won’t accept another eSIM.

  2. Install it at home, on Wi-Fi

Scan the QR code or use the provider’s app a day or two before you fly. Check the provider’s rules on when your plan’s days start counting.

  3. Switch it on when you land

Turn on the eSIM line and data roaming for it. Keep your home SIM on for SMS codes from your bank if you need them.

good to know

When a local SIM is the better choice

If you’re staying more than a month, need a Vietnamese phone number, or your phone doesn’t support eSIM, buy a physical SIM from an official Viettel, Vinaphone or Mobifone store in town. Airport counters tend to push bigger bundles than you need.
